Dr Daniel Booker of the University of Bristol has been one of the leading researchers on a new project examining the medieval records of the earldom-duchy of Lancaster. He will be speaking about that work and its findings.
Prof Louise Wilkinson is one of the foremost historians of the reign of Henry III (1216-72); she was based originally at Canterbury but is now at Lincoln. She played a leading role in the Fine Rolls project, the results of which are still available online and in print. Her talk will look at Eleanor’s role in the final stages of the Baronial wars in the 1260s through her household roll.

The meeting is open to all members of the Society and to the public, though there will be a charge for non-members.
